Mumbai Visit
Board members Gaurie Tilak and Cara Smith recently returned from Mumbai, India, where they worked for several weeks to finalize details with partners in our Mumbai pilot program. The AIDS Relief International Board of Directors selected Mumbai-based partners to acquire raw materials and carry out nutritional counseling. These partners will include the NGO SNEHA and the faculty of Sion Hospital.

In addition, AIDS Relief International board members and partners determined the size of the program and the distribution pattern for the nutritional supplement. The program will begin with 50 malnourished children starting anti-retroviral therapy who will be given a supply of Laddu supplements during monthly appointments. The nutritionist employed by Sion Hospital designed this supplement.

Beginning September 2010, our program will commence, and 50 children will begin receiving personalized nutritional counseling and supplementation in key nutrients.
